On 2011-11-28, I proposed the following conjecture: Any convex two-dimensional shape that tessellates can be formed by the intersection of two of these overlapping shapes. And if two overlapping forms of the shape cannot form the original shape, then that shape cannot tessellate on its own. I would appreciate it if anyone could either prove or disprove this conjecture.
